As you’re starting to teach your baby how to sleep on his/her own, you often wish that you could just talk through the monitor without having to stop what you’re doing and run over there, or worse, get out of bed and walk over. Sometimes they just need to hear your voice and can be soothed back to sleep.
There are several monitors on the market that feature 2-way communication, but The First Years has come out with a product that allows for THREE-way communication! You and your spouse can both hear and talk to baby and communicate with each other. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve yelled, “Honey, your turn!” The baby unit also comes with a handy nightlight, a small but extremely handy feature.
Review from Brandon’s Dad:
The P400 comes with two parent units, which is very useful for my wife and I, and one unit that acts as a microphone, essentially. It also has bi-directional communication, so you can actually use the parental unit to talk to your baby from afar. You can also communicate directly between the parental units, which is fun!
It operates at 2.45 GHz, so you shouldn’t see much interference with cell phones or cordless house phones, and the audio quality is very clear. I also found it very interesting that the audio signal is digitally encrypted for security reasons, although I’m not sure how much private information you might be sharing with your baby.
The parental units are less than 1″ thick, so they’re not large and bulky. They do have re-chargable batteries in them, so they’re not light, but they’re not overbearingly heavy. The packaging on the box claims that it works up to 1000ft, although I don’t feel safe being 1000ft away from my child. If you’re going to be nearly 1/4 mile away from your child, hopefully somebody else is watching her at home!

I am liking the fact that I can keep my daughter’s schedule online. I keep trying to get her on a set schedule but it’s been hard. This seems like it will make it easier for me to track her current one and make adjustments.

I have a True Fit car seat and I absolutely LOVE it! It helps me keep my 28-month-old rear facing longer! He should fit in it rear facing for another year at least, and then forward facing for ages, too! Love it!

There are so many features I like about babybix, but if I had to choose a favorite, I’d say I like using babybix because the growth charts are the most accurate trackers for the CDC guidelines. I’ve used other trackers and they don’t have the right curve percentiles. With babybix, I can be confident that my little guy is growing up well!

I do not have a baby monitor, the ones that really work are too expensive and I can’t afford one. Which stops me from doing ANYTHING due to my fear that my baby will be crying and I won’t be able to hear her.
This monitor would be for my daughter MacKenzie who is 28 days old.
I own The First Years Breastflow bottle set. It was given to me through charity at my church and I just love them. I’m breastfeeding and the don’t cause my daughter to get nipple confusion. I also was given The First Years Bottle Warmer and a nursing cover. I love The First Year’s products.
On the monitor I like that it is a 3 way communicator instead of the typical 2 way. I also love that the batteries are rechargable and that I can communicate with my partner as well as my daughter.

I like that it has bi-directional communication, so you can actually use the parental unit to talk to your baby from afar.

I’ve never used a monitor before, but their are definitely times it would come in handy!
