Nature Valley and Fruit Roll-Ups Available at Costco

Summer is here, and that means lots of trips to the park, fun picnics, and all sorts of outdoor activities.  When we’re on the go, I love having snacks that are pre-packaged in individual servings that I can stash in my bag for a quick snack.  As a busy mom, I have also been known to use these snacks for myself late at night or between meals.  :)

We make a trip to Costco just about every week – probably not the most optimal use of our time especially when they are super crowded, but we don’t have much storage space at home and it’s a fun outing for us to take.  It’s funny that these two products were selected for this review, because they are actually two of my favorite snacks to get from Costco!

When I was in high school, my best friend came over and we polished off an entire Costco box of Fruit Roll-Ups in one sitting.  I kid you not, and don’t tell my mom.  Anyway, Brandon loves fruit snacks, and I love that Fruit Roll-Ups has reinvented themselves with this “Simply Fruit” line that is made with 90% real fruit.

Another one of my favorite snacks is the Nature Valley Trail Mix Fruit & Nut granola bar.  I love granola bars, but I don’t like when they are too sweet or too crunchy.  This one is just right for me – chewy, nutty, and slightly sweet with cranberries and raisins throughout.  It’s perfect for a quick snack on the go, and keeps me satisfied until the next meal.  Brandon actually likes these too, but he can only eat about 1/2 a bar at a time, which is perfect for me because I get to eat the leftovers.  :)

We go to Costco probably every 2 months or so for food and more frequently than that to grab a slice of pizza. We buy artichoke hearts, cheese, and lemon juice – those are the big ones. The membership is worth is to my husband, who does most of his big item Christmas shopping there.

I visit costco every other Tuesday to buy milk, tomatoes and carrot juice. I also use their online photo program to order pictures for my mom and granda (I can order photos and mail them directly to either, it’s a GREAT service).

We usually don’t buy fruit roll ups because that’s just an awesome treat outside of our budget. I do buy the Nature Valley bars (we LOVE the peanut butter bar). If we won the gift card, I would definitely pick up Mrs. Mays. We enjoy the snack mixes and pistachio nut bars.

Just joined babybix and I cannot believe what I’ve been missing. I made so many spreadsheets and wasted so much time when here was a resource to track bottles, poos, nursing. I’m so sad I didn’t know about this earlier.

I love the sleep tracker and will keep using this with my toddler. Am tempted to buy an iphone just for this app.

My family has tried both the NV Chewy Trail Mix Bars and the Simply Fruit Roll Ups. I think that the fruit roll ups are too sweet though….kids prefer them, but I feel the bars are healthier.
