Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment

By now you’ve probably already seen Avatar being sold all over the place.  I received my review copy a little late, but I still want to tell you about it for those of you who haven’t seen it yet.  I didn’t get a chance to see it in the theater to experience the full 3-d experience.  I’m sure many of you had the same problem I did, which was that I JUST DON’T HAVE TIME to to go the theater anymore.  So sad.  Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment sent me a copy of this DVD to review, and it’s such a welcome escape from Thomas the Train, Elmo, and all the other kids DVDs I am subjected to every day.  I almost forgot what it’s like to watch a “real” movie!  :)

The animation is really like no other, and even if you’re not a huge sci-fi fan you will enjoy this movie.  The story is touching and heartwarming, and concept is one-of-a-kind.  This movie broke all kinds of records, and was the highest grossing movie worldwide for the past 12 years!  If you have to make time to see one movie, this has to be it.  There are all kinds of cool details about how they made the film on the Wikipedia Avatar page.

Avatar is rated PG-13 for “intense epic battle sequences and warfare, sensuality, language, and some smoking”, so make sure you tuck those little ones in bed first.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a copy to giveaway this time, but you can purchase a copy at amazon.com (the current price for the DVD+Blu-Ray is $19.99 and the regular DVD is $15.99), where they also have toys, apparel, video games, action figures, and more.
