About Josie Maran Cosmetics:
As a top model, Josie learned about makeup from the best in the business. While world-famous makeup artists worked their magic on her, she paid attention. She learned about the transformative power of makeup, and how just a little can do a lot. She learned what works and what doesn’t, which ingredients to seek out and which to avoid.
Over time, Josie noticed a hole in the market. It was hard to find products that matched her approach to life – products that are pure and gentle, that contain no toxins or ingredients that damage the planet. The few earth-friendly products she found were lacking the sophistication and the level of luxury she craved.
Josie knew that if she wanted products that met these high standards, other women would want them too. So in 2006 Josie set out to create her own makeup line.
One of the things my readers said in my survey is that they want to see more mom stuff, like makeup and jewelry. The first thing that came to mind is that I want to share Josie Maran Cosmetics with those of you who haven’t heard of it. Josie Maran is a super model who has graced the covers of magazines like Glamour, Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, and Mademoiselle. She was a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model 3 years in a row, a Guess and Maybelline spokesmodel, has appeared in several movies and videos, and was even on Dancing with the Stars. I also have to brag a little that I went to high school with Josie and played basketball with her (she was a great point guard!). :) You can read more about her bio here.
As you can imagine, Josie has seen her fair share of makeup, and decided to create her own line of more earth-friendly products. I love that Josie Maran Cosmetics tells you every single ingredient in the products you are using, and she also has an easy-to-read chart with symbols that help you understand if your product is natural, organic, recylcable, fragrance-free, not tested on animals, etc. Josie also has a You Tube Channel where she has some really fun and informative tutorials on how to use her products.
I’m happy to be able to share with you two of Josie’s newest products, the Natural Wonder Powder Palette and the Argan Primer Mist.
The Natural Wonder Powder Palette is new for Spring 2010, and includes five eyeshadows, two blush shades, and a bronzing powder. This palette includes Eye Shadow: Daydream (shimmery apricot), Hope (bright iridescent blue- purple), Desire (iridescent teal), Trance (shimmery gold), Think (shimmery copper brown), Blush: Illusion (deep rose), Fiction (peachy pink), Bronzing Powder: Beach No. 1 (bronze). This palette retails for $35.
The Argan Primer Mist is made from Argan Oil, which is touted by Moroccan’s as a cure-all, and by those “in the know” as a secret weapon! Argan Oil contains antioxidants, Vitamin E, and essential fatty acids. The Argan Primer Mist can be used before makeup as a primer, or throughout the day as a refresher to keep your face hydrated and smooth. The Argan Primer Mist is also infused with natural plant stem cells from sea fennel to stimulate new cell growth, battle signs of aging, improve skin tone, and repair damage from the sun.
Most other makeup primers are cakey or oily, and this one goes on smooth and light. The refreshing mist has no distinct odor, and despite being called an “oil” doesn’t really feel oily at all. After using all kinds of expensive products, I’m definitely a new convert to Josie’s Argan Primer Mist! The Argan Primer Mist retails for $36.

I used to work at a drugstore, and my favorite makeup tip was always to use Preparation H to tighten the areas around your eyes or to use toothpaste overnight on a sudden breakout.

My make-up tip is if you’re short on time and don’t want to do the whole routine just mix some foundation your moisturizer and go (you’ll have coverage and you’re skin will be moisturized and if the moisturier contains SPF’s you’re protected too) ..if I’m just running errands this is all I do (with a little mascara if i have time)

I got a really bad cold when I was about 2-3 months pregnant and we went away for the weekend to the Smokies. I can remember feeling really bad and felt worse still about taking a prescription for antibiotics. I was worried about taking anything at that time eventhough the doctor said it was ok.

Use powder shadow to set liner, use loose powder foundation on lips before applying lipstick and use visine on any reddish blemishes on your face to get rid of the redness
