About Ella’s Kitchen in the words of Paul, the founder:
Ella is my ten-year-old daughter and I set up Ella’s Kitchen because I passionately believe that she, along with her generation, should have the opportunity to eat better food and also to discover that healthy food can be fun, tasty and cool.
We think it’s important to always approach things from a child’s point of view. So, we’ve taken simple, natural ingredients that ooze goodness and created foods, and packaging, that should really connect with kids – with flavors, colors, textures and even names that will appeal to all of their senses.
We have two ranges currently available in the United States: our Smoothie Fruits and our Stage 1 Baby Foods. In the next few months we’ll also have some exciting new product news to tell you about!
We think Ella’s Kitchen is different. We hope you agree.
Ella’s kitchen is unique in that they use 100% fresh whole organic fruits and vegetables (nothing from concentrate), and don’t add anything else. No water, no added sugar, no additives, no juice or other flavorings. These are just pure natural goodness. They minimally process them by pasteurizing and then put them into these cool pouches that are super convenient to take along with you. You can even re-close the top by screwing the cover back on, or freeze them for later use. Perfect for traveling, a trip to the park, or just a fun snack at home.
The Stage 1 baby food flavors include:
They also have 2 smoothie flavors – “the red one” and “the yellow one”. They have some cool recipe ideas to do with the smoothies too! Just thinking about the strawberry cheesecake is making me drool!
Brandon had a lot of fun trying out the pouches straight from the package. But you can squeeze them out into your favorite bowl and spoon feed, or just straight from the package into a spoon (skip the bowl). If you want to warm them up, just put the bag under some running warm water, or leave it sitting in a warm bowl of water for a few minutes until it reaches the desired temperature.
You can purchase Ella’s Kitchen Organic Baby Food online or at a store near you. Ella’s Kitchen products are on sale at Babies R Us stores right now (3/5 – 3/25) for 8 for $10.
Ella’s Kitchen would like to offer one lucky babybix blog reader their very own sampler pack of Ella’s Kitchen Baby Food! This will include 8 yummy pouches of Ella’s Kitchen products. Six stage 1 pouches and 2 delicious fruit smoothies.

I was super careful with my 3-year-old’s first solids, I’m sure I followed every recommendation to the letter with doing veggies first and having them the perfect consistency, etc, etc. With my younger daughter, however, I think we just handed over whatever she pointed at and were good to go. If I remember right, it did happen to be sweet potatoes, but then she moved on to whatever everyone else was eating!

My daughter’s first food, after rice cereal, was avocado. She wasn’t sure of it at first so I backed off. Now, at 2, she LOVES them!

My daughter’s favorite fruits and veggies are carrots, lima beans (just like her mother!) and any kind of berry! (And also, as I mentioned before, avocados.)

My second daughter didn’t cut her first tooth until she was 8 months old. By the time she was able to eat solid foods, she was so sick of baby food that she wouldn’t eat anything with that consistancy…mashed potatoes, refried beans, applesauce. She wanted SOLID food, something she can sink her teeth into.
