I love that this gate has the option of hardware mounting or pressure mounting. It also looks great with the dark brown furniture finish. We actually own the Summer Infant video monitor and it is wonderful… except that I got it at a garage sale and it worked great for a while but the picture has slowly gotten worse and worse! Oh well, it still serves its purpose.

You do like stories, don’t you? The first safety gate we actually purchased was a cheap plastic one – no, not for our kids, for our dog! It was easily moved all over the house to keep him out of places he shouldn’t go or to stop him from scratching at the sliding door and ruining the wood trim!

With the first baby gate we used, I kept almost tripping at the top of the stairs (laden with a laundry basket) as I tried to step over the gate… would LOVE to try a walk-through type!!

I was able to borrow my friends Summer Infant B/W video monitor and it was so neat to be able to watch the baby and make sure he was okay. We just have a regular monitor, but there is something calming about being able to see the child/baby. It was great and great quality. I could see and hear everything.

we used a safey gate at the top of the stairs that was great for protecting little ones from falls but abit of a hassle to open and close. and it was a battle to have everyone open the gate so that it would always swing in one direction.

Okay, so we have a safety gate but haven’t installed it yet. Our daughter isn’t quite mobile, but we’re getting there. We need one for the top of the stairs and one for the bottom. If I won this, we could put the one we already own at the bottom of the stairs.

We the the Playsafe Playard. A couple of our friends have them too and when all the babies turned 1, we traded them off the birthday parties. We linked them all together and the babies had a safe place to play while the adults could mingle around outside the gate.

We initially bought our baby gate for our dog. We wanted to keep her out of certain rooms before we even had a child. Turns out she’s a jumper and we ended up having to get a 4 foot gate! The baby is well on her way to following in the dog’s footsteps. She climbs up those gates like it’s nobody’s business.

Since my little one isn’t born yet, the only experiences I have with a safety gate are with those old wood ones! When I was a teenager, babysitting was my part-time job, and it seems like every family had those old nasty wooden gates that didn’t even swing open. I always had to step over them, nearly tripping every single time! Glad those days are done!

I have a Summer Infant Bath sling that I ADORED when my kiddos were newbies. I buy that for every pregnant chick I know because it was so amazing and wonderful. No more moldy plastic tub, you can just throw the mesh sling in the washing machine. It is perfect for babies.

We have 2 safety gates that we put up when our 1 year old granddaughter comes over. She’s so funny, when she hears us mention putting the gates up, she hurries up and runs on the other side of the island so she’ll be in the kitchen when the gates are up. It’s cute.

We just bought one of their booster seats and use it instead of a high chair for space reasons. It has worked out very well.

The Lean on Me Activity Bolster looks like something we would like. It sure looks more efficient than putting pillows behind the baby and more fun for the baby too!

When my son was young, we visited a family and their baby had a barking like a seal cough. I was told he wasn’t contagious. Well, that was hogwash! My son came down with croup and had bouts of it all through his early years.
