My car seat story is that my husband and I thought we were all prepared when our first daughter was born with our infant seat. We were sure to have it ready and with us at the hospital… and when it was time to leave we realized that we had never tried it out before and had no clue how to even loosen the straps. So there we were at the door trying to smoosh her in there while she cried and we freaked out about not knowing what to do! I felt pretty dumb and it wasn’t exactly the introduction to parenthood that I would have liked!

My cat peed in our brand new Marathon. It took me hours to clean it out. Luckily Britax allows you to buy pieces of your car seat. I had to buy new styrofoam and a new belt buckle.

My “great” carseat story…don’t try to fit a car seat to a small bear and expect it to fit a newborn. We thought the straps were loose enough for my son and at the time (our hospital has now changed policies) I got to hold him as they wheeled me out and my mom (hubby had to work the day we were finally released ) carried the carseat. We went to put him in, got the chest plate buckled and my mom tried to buckle the croch belt and pinched my baby boys privates, it was too tight. We learned that lesson for our next baby, we fitted the carseat on a “practice” doll thats made to be the size of a 3mo old, and of course my little 6lb 13oz daughter was too small for the setting but it was better and easier to tighten then it was to loosen with my son.

The frontier would be perfect! I like the pink sky pattern. I learned about the great safety features!

When my son was sick I used to get rides to and from the hospital with an organization that supplied its own car seats in the van. Feeling that they weren’t too safe or clean I usually shlepped along my own but one time I just took my chances and used theirs. The driver was quite annoyed with me delaying him when I took 15 minutes to adjust and reinstall the carseat safely. We got to the hospital where they dropped me off and picked up a different patient and parent for a ride home. 2 days later I got a call from the patients mother thanking me. The van was in an accident on the way home where she flew into the windshield and the driver was injured as well. Her son, safely strapped into the carseat I had installed, slept through the entire ordeal. Just proves how installing a car seat correctly is just as important as a safe carseat itself.

I gave my daughter her apple dippers from McDonalds and I obviously forgot that it comes with caramel….when I got out of the car her and her britax boulevard carseat were covered in caramel….at least it was easy to clean

My car seat story is my son HATES the car seat! It is only 10 months old and though it doesn’t appear to effect function, a piece of the plastic surrounding the seatbelt snap came off!!!! And this is suppose to be a top brand!
Not a Britax though

when my younger son was around 2, i would let him sit in his brother’s booster as a treat. but he then got used to it. i had a change of heart and realized it wasn’t his safest option so i switched him back to his convertible seat much to his dismay.

My car seat story is that when I had it installed it took 3 (yes 3!) trained people to install it. I guess Evenflo car seats don’t fit well in the middle of the back seat in a Honda CRV. Needless to say, I never ever take the car seat out for fear that I won’t be able to get it back in correctly!

My car seat story is that my son reached the limit of his bucket car seat…yes 22 pounds by 7 months. He’s only five pounds less than my two year old!

Visited britax site, didn’t know babies could rear face up to 35 lbs!

We have an Advocate CS and it’s the BEST carseat! The Britax website has some great videos that are really informative.

When I got a second car seat for my car at a consignment sale, it took a while for my husband to actually get it installed in my car. My son used to love to sit in it while he watched Bunnytown. It was so funny. We have pics of him lounging in front of the TV in the car seat like it is a recliner!

When my oldest was 2, we were taking a trip on the greyhound bus and brought our carseat. Unbelievably, someone stole the carseat (it wasn’t a Britax). I had to scramble to get another. Since my 25 month old was 39 pounds, I was told I should look into a Britax since he would soon be over the 40 pound limit that most carseats have. We went with a Marathon and love it. I would love to have a Chaperone infant seat for our next child.

We are in need of two more convertible car seats at the moment! My daughter is getting to long for the infant seat! We have two cars, so that means double-the-fun! Our daughter sounds like your son. Tall and long. She is already 37inches tall at almost 2 1/2. We would go with the Pink Sky if we won. I am planning on buying her a new carseat this spring, and this would be awesome to win!

When we tried to bring my daughter home from the hospital she was preemie size and I had a huge freak out in the hospital room because we had been there for four days and I just wanted to take her home and the check out nurse said she wouldn’t let me put her in our car seat.

I felt like we’d never leave and I was tired and just wanted to get her home and hold her so I remember sobbing. It was then that my husband who is amazingly well prepared brought out the owner’s manual and pointed out that the weight capacity was for 5 pounds. At 5 lb 3 oz the lady let us go, rudely, but she did.

My favorite model is the Regent.

Story: I’m so new… this is hard… but I can tell that seats in the rest of the world are very different! For school age children, they are made of foam in Germany! Clearly the standards are different. I also think that it’s required the material is machine washable. Icky cookie and cracker goo… everywhere is inevitible!

My fav is the Marathon because that is what we currently own for our two.

Our carseat story is that I wanted a high quality seat for my daughter and I liked that the Britax Marathon had padding that went throughout the seat rather than stopping right before the lower back.

I learned that 1 in 4 crashes are side impact and that the Britax car seat minimizes side to side head movement and literally “trues” the head keeping the neck and spine aligned to limit potential injury.

My only car seat story is that my husband took our car to a “car seat installation clinic” before our baby was born. One of the things he had to do was put a baby doll in the car seat and secure it. Unfortunately my husband totally mushed the doll’s arm in the process and the police officer told him “don’t worry, your baby will cry if you try to do that in real life”

My car seat story is pretty much a car seat horror story. My daughter somehow managed to unbuckle herself from her seat. Of course she managed to do this right when I jumped out of the car for a minute to throw the garbage in the can at the end of our driveway. She climbed out and put the car into drive. Luckily, I was right outside the door and was able to jump in and put it back in park, but that day I went out and bought a new carseat!

My carseat story:
We have a convertible Graco (not sure which model). The other day, I secured my DD in the seat and drove to my mom’s house (only 1 mile away from home). Well, when I got to my mom’s house, I went to take her out of the seat and noticed that the straps were loose so I pulled slightly and THEY CAME COMPLETELY OUT! the straps are supposed to hook together behind the car seat and apparently they had come loose somehow. I got down on my knees and thanked God that we didn’t get into an accident. I am still upset about it. We had another slightly older car seat in my husband’s car (I think it’s First Step or something) and we are now using that seat.
I would love a chance to win a Britax seat b/c I have heard such good things about the quality and safety of the seats.

car seat story

my daughter is a little on the small side and when she was about 1-1 1/2 she fractured her leg on the slide at the park. Well she got a full leg cast and I asked the man who put the cast on her “how do i get her home? she still sits backwards in the infant carrier, she doesn’t weigh 20 lbs yet” the man looked at me and said ” just do the best you can” Needless to say we got the ok from her dr and she was in a Britax boulevard within a week or two!

My favorite model use to be the Decathalon but it’s now the Frontier because of it’s weight range for 5 pt harness. I would LOVE to win this because it would save us some money since we have twin girls and would need 2 seats. I think for our girls one would love the pink and one would love the red.

last yr my sisters two boys went on vacation with us…they sat in the backseat with my son…well a day after they left i went into the backseat to clean everything up…and lo and behold one of the boys must have undone my son’s belt thinking it was theirs…i have no idea how long my son was unbelted…ugh…i now check after anyone is in the back with him

I learned the Following from the Britax website:
The Frontier combination Harness-2-Booster seat can be used for children over 100 lbs. as long as the vehicle shoulder belt guide places the belt in the proper position for the child, and the top of the child’s ears are below the top of the head restraint, and the child physically fits in the seat, and is not being used beyond its expiration date (9 years from date of manufacture).

My car seat story (which, strangely, has to do with a Britax): I had a Britax carrier that was given to me by my sister at my baby shower. She vowed that she had done her research, and it was the safest car seat out there. Knowing how my sister is about safety, I took her seriously. Plus, the car seat matched my style, so I loved it.

Fast-forward two years, and this carrier has been passed to whoever in the family happens to have the newest baby. Right now, my oldest sister has it. She came to our house two weeks ago after dark with her two-month-old son in the carrier, for a quick visit. While walking to the porch, she slipped on a patch of black ice and fell. The carrier fell with her, rolling over and down a step. Imagine our surprise when our entire family ran frantically to the carrier and opened it, to find still-sleeping baby. He had suffered no damage! And luckily, my other sister was there, and we could thank her for such a safe car seat.

My car seat story: My obsession with carseats began when my sisters started having children. I knew that they did not care as much as me about the type of carseat they bought, so I bought them Britax carseats, starting with the Britax Companion. Just the other day (after three children) my sister slipped on ice while carrying her son in his Companion carrier. He tumbled in the carseat and landed a few feet away. She expected him to be hysterical, but he was calm as a lark, and she became a believer in the True Side Impact Protection Britax offers.

Car seat story… Our daughter was in her carseat on the beach so when we left we just latched it in the base. On the way home she was crying so when I looked back she was falling out…we had forgotten to buckle her in. I jumped out (in LA traffic) to the back seat and saved her!

Carseat story: When I was pregnant, I was priceshopping for the best deal on a Britax. I guess with my pregnancy brain, I thought that a Britax was on sale for a rock bottom price–it turns out that I bought a cover rather than the actual seat. (I only saw the picture and didn’t actually read the print!)

If I won I would love to have red rock color!

My son is in the Britax infant seat now. I feel that this is the best car seat brand out there. I will upgrade to a high capicty convertable when he out grows the infant seat.

We have two Britax seats and a Fischer Price seat made by Britax. Our son is just about outgrown the Roundabout and I would love to replace it with the Frontier in Rushmore, but really any color would work (except probably pink) since safety is so much more important to me than the color! Thank you!

My wife and I own two Britax Boulevard (Meghan color). We bought them for the “true side impact”. We are expecting our second baby and would love to have the Shannon color for future use.

Our DD, 27 mos, hates the car seat. She just can’t stand to sit still for more than a half-hour at a time.

I like to think of it as a throne or a magical chair. … we have about a million tricks up our sleeves to keep her entertained, but, alas, sometimes they just don’t work.

Our infant son is still a piece of cake with regard to the car seat. Only thing with him is that he was so small he didn’t fit well when we first brought him home. And now he grows out of the sizes quickly, so we have to adjust periodically.

The Britax carseats look awesome. Would love to have one.
