I love that all of Sprig Toys are battery-free and made from eco-friendly Sprigwood. Sprig Toys just came out with 4 new non-electronic Adventure Series toys, and 5 new Story Builders toys. They sent us one of each – Captain Owen’s Dolphin Explorer Boat, and the Ol’ Mac’s Barnyard.

Adventure Series. The new Adventure Series toys include Rex Jungle’s Dino Rescue, Captain Owen’s Dolphin Explorer Boat, Willie Ocean’s Scuba Rescue, and August West’s Mountain Trek. Captain Owen’s Dolphin Explorer is a great toy for imaginative play in the water or out. Brandon loves tub time, so we gave this a test in the tub. It comes with one large waterproof boat, one adventure guide (with removable hat and backpack), 2 dolphin figures (mom and baby), a life preserver, and a small dingy boat. Everything fits inside the bigger boat, and get this – everything floats! Some pieces are harder to keep afloat than others, like the life preserver, because it is so small. However, the way the dolphins are designed, they can either float or stay at the bottom of the “ocean”. Brandon loves the mommy and baby dolphins (“mama and bey-bee”), as well as playing Titanic and sinking the larger boat. Water can get into the hull of the boat, and you can pour it out to make it float again. He loves this toy, and plays with it every day in the tub now.

Story Builders. The new Story Builders are Sprigwood blocks and recycled paperboard panels that you can connect to create your own story. These new toys are great because they really allow your child to think creatively and design a whole story. You can use these with existing train sets, cars, or figures to really build upon the story. The great thing is that you can build up to 4 square feet of play area with the 95 pieces, but they all collapse back down when you’re done playing.
