Livie and Luca was founded by 3 moms in 2005 who were looking for soft, funky, comfortable, high-quality shoes for their children. Unable to really find what they were looking for, they created Livie and Luca.

About Livie and Luca’s Artisan Touch:

We want people to remember that our baby and toddler shoes are made by hand. In this spirit, we’ve asked our shoe makers to leave their markings which can be found under the strap. To reduce our carbon footprint, Livie & Luca chooses to use remains of high quality leather that would otherwise be discarded. In addition, because they are handmade, every pair of shoes will be a little different. Each pair of shoes is as unique as the child who wears them.

We are passionate about our baby and toddler shoes and all of their possibilities. We truly believe that our baby and toddler shoes are capable of spreading a little joy while providing little citizens with a comfortable and adorable shoe!

I found out about Livie and Luca from my friend Jen (thanks Jen!). They are sold at her local children’s store in San Francisco, and I drove an hour to go see them! It’s hard for me to find shoes that are wide enough and flexible enough for Brandon’s feet.

These Critter shoes, by Livie and Luca are so perfect – they are easy on/off with a velcro strap, made of soft and breathable leather, and are just SO cute. So many “major brand” shoes have really thick soles and are not flexible at all (even if they say “flex” on them). These shoes are truly flexible – I’m talking bend with 2 fingers. If you’re like me, you might ask yourself if buying kids’ shoes is a waste of money because they grow out of them so fast. But think about how often they wear the shoes, and that they really only need one good pair that fits at a time. Also, growing feet need good support! To me, shoes are one item that I will always splurge on for Brandon. These would make such a great Holiday Gift!
