I previously wrote about Plan Toys and some of the toys they make that are on my wishlist. I love that they are such a Green company (“green material, green manufacturing, green attitude”) and that the toys are made so well. These days, so many toys have so many flashing lights and loud music that kids sometimes forget how to play quietly and think creatively. Plan Toys allows children to really *play* with their wooden toys, instead of just getting bombarded with lights and sounds.
Plan Toys sent me their Plan City Airport to review. This airport reminds me of an airport in Germany, for some reason. The airport comes with several pieces, and requires a screwdriver to put together. It took me about 20 minutes (including the time it took to pry the screwdriver away from Brandon several times) to put together, and the instructions were very detailed and straight forward. I could tell right away that this toy was very well made and would be sturdy for many years (generations?) to come. They are really innovative with the design of their educational toys, and the little figures can sit or stand (for flying) by twisting their legs. This toy is made for ages 3+, and Brandon is only 18 months old, so I had to take away some of the smaller pieces like the luggage, but he still loves to play with it! He especially loves to twist the red knob on the top to bring the elevator up and down. My personal favorite is the conveyor belt. :)
From Plan Toys:
The Airport comes with a 2-storey airport terminal, flight control tower, and an elevator that moves between the ground level and the second floor. The car park is on the ground floor and the second floor features the check-in counter, luggage conveyor belt, and the jet way to the plane. This play set includes an airplane, cargo truck and trailer, a pilot and an airport agent figure.
Plan Toys would like to offer one lucky babybix blog reader their very own Airport! This is a $100 value!
