Potty Chair

Today, we will be discussing the Potty Chair.  Brandon is just starting to learn about the potty.   I read that it’s easier to get kids potty trained if you start before 2 years old, because after that they start getting extremely opinionated and don’t want to participate.  We haven’t had a successful elimination yet, but I’m just easing him into sitting on the potty.  This particular one is great because it’s much bigger than some of the others, and he can sit down easily like he’s sitting on a chair.  That way it’s more comfortable for him to sit on for longer periods of time.  It also has a removable bowl so you don’t have to carry the entire potty to empty it out, just the lining.  This makes it easier to wash out in a smaller / normal size sink.  It also has a skid-proof bottom so he doesn’t feel unstable.  They think of everything!

So far, Brandon has been enjoying sitting on his Potty Chair, but I can see that once he is ready to start, we are going to have to line the whole area with towels, because the splashguard is not quite high enough to really cover his wee-wee.   Especially when he gets really comfortable and leans back against the back support, I can see that the trajectory of the pee is going up and out of the potty for sure.   That said, I’ve seen many potties with no splash guard at all.
