Bebe au Lait Hooded Towel

I’ve had a Bebe au Lait nursing cover (formerly known as Hooter Hiders) for a while now, and I *love* it.   Every nursing mom needs to put this on their must-have list.  I’m not comfortable nursing in public, but I didn’t really have a choice on the 16-hour airplane ride we took to New Zealand, and my Bebe au Lait nursing cover was a life-saver!  That was my first introduction to the Bebe au Lait brand.

Bebe au Lait has recently ventured into other areas, producing innovative new products for babies.  They have recently added to their collection a 4-sided bib, burp cloths, and a hooded towel (2 sizes).  Bebe au Lait sent me a toddler size hooded towel (Yoko print) to test out.

The features of the toddler hooded towel are:

• Fits toddlers size 2T – 3T
• Open-bottom sleeves so toddlers can “wear” the towel and wrap themselves up
• Approximately ankle-length so they can walk around while wearing it and not trip
• Magnetic closure to keep the hood on

Brandon is a big guy (16 months, but 98th percentile), and when I take him out of the tub he’s really wet.  My first impression of this towel was that it was quite small.  As you can see in this picture, it barely wraps all the way around him.  He also has a huge head, and the hood was just big enough to cover the top of his head.  I think I should have gone with the baby size, which boasts a “generous size perfect for swaddling”.   That being said, I can see this being a great towel for toddlers who like to wrap themselves up and walk around in a robe / towel.  The towel itself is so soft, and the magnetic closure is a great idea – kids can wear it around like a cape!
