today’s happenings

sometimes, i just want to keep a snapshot of the day’s happenings to reflect on later. here’s what we did today:

grandma tully came over today to help watch you, and i had a long conference call. when i was finally done, i found you throwing blocks all over the place – at the wall, in the bathroom, on the floor. and grandma was throwing them too! haha. we went to costco in the afternoon, but i am losing my mind due to lack of sleep so i forgot to bring the ravioli to return, and i also forgot to use our rebate coupon. however, i was able to fill gas and i remembered to buy corn, toothpaste, popchips, and watermelon. you also had 2 samples of wheat toast with butter and ate the whole thing. we also found out that costco is selling organic tofu now in a 3 pack for $4.99, but i didn’t get one this time because we still have a tofu at home. maybe grandma cu wants to share a pack with us next time?

then daddy came home and we went to yuki for dinner. i’ve never seen you eat so much. you ate your whole bowl of soba and kept pulling my hand to your mouth for more. then you ate the whole bowl of extra tofu in the miso soup and drank some of the soup. then you ate 3 avocado sushis. you were a huge mess as usual afterwards. we brought the laptop to dinner and you were watching videos, so maybe that’s why you ate so much? like i said, i’m losing my mind, so i left the laptop at yuki and we had to go back and get it on the way home.

after dinner, we went to the mall so you could walk around. i got a haagen dazs ice cream cone – cookies and cream and chocolate on a sugar cone, and you knew you wanted some right away. you pretty much took it from me. i think you liked the chocolate better than the cookies and cream, but daddy ate my whole cookies and cream scoop anyway. you were a HUUUUGE mess. you stopped playing with legos and stood there with your cone watching the other kids play with legos. you got angry when i tried to take the cone away. then you took a bite out of the bottom of the cone and it was a disaster. you were walking all over the place leaking chocolate melted ice cream on yourself and on the floor.

finally, we came back home and you said goodbye to grandma (waved, blew kisses, gave a kiss) and then we took a bath and went to bed. you weren’t so sleepy yet though, so we watched some thomas the train and elmo on demand and then we both fell asleep. i woke up hungry because i didn’t get a chance to finish my dinner, so i came downstairs and ate some of it. and that was our day….
