20 May 2009when i first saw the boon frog pod, i laughed so hard. “man, they really sucker people into buy ANYTHING for their kid, huh? a big plastic device to scoop toys out of the tub?? really??” but oh how things change when you actually have a kid.
i thought i’d save some money and pick up the munchkin version at walmart – the munchkin super scooper turtle. i think i paid $14.99 at walmart (not available online)? pretty good deal, i thought. but i guess there is a reason for the saying, “you get what you pay for.”
instead of suction cups to hold it up, it’s a single adhesive strip (don’t mess up or change your mind!). guess how well that holds up in the moisture and heat of the shower? in contrast, the frog pod has 8 suction cups that hold it up (or you can use adhesive strips or screws). also, the munchkin version doesn’t have the area to hold shampoo bottles like the boon one, and it doesn’t have anywhere to hang scrubbies off of.
if i had to do it again, i’d probably get the boon frog pod in a bundle with their boon bath toys, or their new boon bug pod. another good place to get a good deal on these is costco (frog pod + flo + bath goods = $44.99), if you are a member. i’ll have to remember to write a review about the flo, as that was one of the few boon products that didn’t work well for me.
