first remote control car by parents

we bought brandon the “my first rc car” by parents.  it wasn’t an immediate hit.  in fact, the reviews on amazon are TOTALLY right on all fronts.

pros:

• it’s a car!  brandon loves cars.  vroom-vroom!
• it has flashy light and sounds
• there’s a button – brandon loves to push buttons!

cons:

• it is WAY too loud.  based on someone’s suggestion, i put a piece of tape over the speaker because the first time i turned it on, it was so loud that brandon got really scared and didn’t want anything to do with it.
• it doesn’t move at all on carpet
• 9 volt battery required for the remote, which doesn’t come with the toy – really??  9 volt?  no one has 9 volt batteries lying around.

that said, brandon still likes to push it around and make vroom-vroom sounds.  he “got” the pushing the button thing and realized that he was controlling the car, but still was more interested in touching the car than actually pushing the button.  maybe when he gets older he’ll appreciate this more, but for now, it’s going on the meh list.
