ahhh, the walk & roll toy from pottery barn kids…. i don’t know what it is about this toy, but it is by far brandon’s favorite toy. not the crazy colorful music-playing gizmo gadget plastic toys, but this simple wooden toy. he will see it across the room, and make a bee-line for it. he got this as a christmas present from his grandparents and hasn’t put it down since it came out of the box.  this is the only toy that he will take with him from room to room.  when he was first learning how to crawl, he would still try to drag it from room to room with him.  now he’s an expert and even held it up in the air while standing up!

the toy is a very simple design. it’s basically a wooden cage with little wooden balls inside. when you roll it, it makes the balls move around and hit the sides of the cage. it’s really nice because it has 2 lengths – he’s still using the shorter length right now, but as soon as he starts walking, i can see him needing the longer length. we can hear exactly where he is because of the pleasant click-click sound it makes.

this toy is one of the more expensive toys that we have, but boy does he love it! it’s made with non-toxic paint, which is great for us worry-wart parents.
